3 Oloolu masquerade’s supporters caught for vandalising 16 vehicles

THE Oyo State police command has arrested three supporters of a leading masquerade in Ibadan, popularly known as Oloolu over an attack on residents of Popoyemoja and Bode areas of the city.

Nigerian Tribune learnt that hell was let loose on Wednesday as supporters of Oloolu swooped on residents at Popoyemoja and Bode areas.

The masquerade’s supporters were alleged to have wielded dangerous weapons and vandalising close to 16 vehicles during the attack.

The hoodlums, who were said to be on a revenge mission against last year’s event in the same area, were dressed in ‘T’ shirts with the inscription of ‘Odun Esan’, meaning year of revenge.

It was learnt that crisis ensued on Wednesday shortly after the masquerade paid homage to two prominent Ibadan chiefs in the communities.[Nigerian Tribune]
