Lagos Assembly proposes 3-yr jail term for Omo-onile, Ajagungbale

HARD time awaits those called Omo-onile and Ajagungbale,  as the Lagos State House of  Assembly has proposed three-year jail term for any person or group of persons, who engage in forcible entry and occupation of landed property in the state.

This was one of the provisions of the State Properties Protection Bill  2013, which scaled through the second reading at the floor of the assembly on Thursday.

The bill seeks to regulate the use of forceful or unreasonable force to take over any landed property in the state by criminalising such act.[Nigerian Tribune]
