Parents, students worried over ASUU strike

Following the strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU), some parents and students on Friday appealed to the Federal Government to meet the demands of the university teachers.

Some of the parents and students, who described the current strike as disheartening, spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, calling for the immediate implementation of the 2009 agreement, which was said to have been breached by the Federal Government.

Mr Olumide Michael, a parent, said that it was unfortunate that the government failed to keep its own side of the agreement.[Nigerian Tribune]
